Dr. Joseph Moore

Dr. Joseph Moore holds appointments at the University of Utah as a research professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics. Since the mid-1970s, Dr. Moore has conducted studies on the geology of many of the world’s major geothermal fields for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Dr. Moore serves as the Principal Investigator of the DOE-funded Utah (Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy) team. FORGE is an innovative program designed to develop new drilling, testing and heat extraction technologies to develop Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS).
